Jerry Dooley, Ph.D., P.L.C.
Dr. Jerry Dooley graduated from Waynesburg University in 2022 with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry in Formational Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2017. Jerry also holds an M.A. in Counseling from Marshall University, 2017 and a M.Div. in Missiology from Nazarene Theological Seminary, 1996. Dr. Dooley is currently an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Marshall University and holds the following licenses and certifications: Provisional Licensed Counselor (State of West Virginia), National Certified Counselor, National Certified School Counselor, Certification in Violence, Loss and Trauma, and American Counseling Association.
Dr. Dooley has many years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in a variety of settings that include:
- Private Group Practice
- Community Based Mental Health
- Secondary School Counselor
- University Campus
Dr. Dooley works with individuals from preteens to adults. He is skilled at working with individuals, couples, and families. Jerry is trained to work with most areas of clinical disorder. He employs a faith-based approach using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. He utilizes a Trauma Focused approach and has extensive experience in addressing the following areas:
