Courage in Uncertain Times
It is easy to see the world as overwhelming, dangerous, and unforgiving.
In uncertain times, problems seem so large, that they cannot be solved. At times like these, we are gripped with fear, becoming spiritually stuck, even frozen. It seems like there is nothing left to be done.
Are you experiencing frustration? Feeling like there is no hope? This week we reflect on the example of Martin Luther King. Through non-violent resistance, courageous action, and a spirit that would never give in or give up, King changed the world for the better.
Celebrate King’s example of courage this week. Don’t let the uncertainty derail you. Never give up on what is right. Have faith that God is still at work in your marriage, family, church, and community. Seek to take action in a way that builds up instead of tearing down. Even the smallest actions with God can lead to big things. Be courageous. Seek examples of wisdom in historical figures like Martin Luther King. Each of us has an important role to play. Bringing people together and mending divisions, will bring joy and stand the test of time.
Thank you Jesus for the love you showed through the life of Martin Luther King! Work in our hearts that we may live such a courageous life as his.
