Five Ways to Reduce Stress as a Single Parent

Help for Single Parents

There may not be a job more difficult in the world than being a single parent. The stress that develops from being overwhelmed as a parent affects the emotional well-being of many. God’s word tells us, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” (James 1:27, NASB)

Single Parents can include:

  • Those dealing with an extended absence of a spouse through military deployment, incapacitating illness, or incarceration.
  • Those who have experienced the loss of a spouse through death.
  • Those who have had marriages end in divorce or abandonment.

There are many in our communities who struggle to face the challenge of parenting without the aide of a spouse.

At Christian Counseling Associates (CCA), we seek to support families that are struggling to raise their children who are full of character and strong in faith. Join us! If you are a single parent, consider reaching out for support. If you know someone who is a single parent, consider what is written in James 1:27 (see above) and offer help to these parents in your circle of influence.
