Nia Staples, B.S.

Nia is a graduate of West Virginia University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Psychology. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education at Penn State University in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Nia is currently in her internship phase of clinical training and is under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Supervisor at Christian Counseling Associates.

Professional Experience:

Nia has a passion for helping people overcome struggles and see their God-given purpose in life. She has volunteered to serve adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings that include:

  • Outpatient Mental Health Counseling
  • College Campus Outreach
  • Elementary School Support
  • Flood Relief
  • Therapeutic Horsemanship

Areas of Specialty:

Nia works with individuals from across the lifespan. Nia is trained to work with most areas of clinical disorder. Clinically, she employs a faith-based approach using Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Counseling, and Cognitive Therapy. Nia specializes in the following areas:

  • Depression
  • Career Counseling
  • Relationship Issues
  • Self-Esteem

Nia integrates Faith-Based Counseling by incorporating biblical principles and prayer in each session. She is an active church member.
