Laura Doran, N.C.C.

Laura graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a Master of Education in School Counseling. Laura is pursuing a Doctorate in Education at Liberty University in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Laura holds the following certifications:

  • National Certified Counselor
  • First Aid and CPR-ARC
  • Strengths-based Family Worker

Professional Experience:

Laura has over 34 years of experience and has worked with clients in a variety of situations that include:

  • At Risk Children and Families
  • Overseeing Foster Care Programs and Adoption Services
  • Providing PTSD Therapy to Court-ordered Juveniles

Areas of Specialty:

Laura specializes in addressing the needs of foster, kinship, and adoptive families. She provides Couples Counseling and Parenting Training. She incorporates a Trauma-informed approach essential to the population she serves.

Laura is skilled at providing empirically-validated, faith-based approaches for most issues including Anxiety, Trauma, Oppositional Defiance, Self Harm, ADHD, Impulse Control Disorder, Marriage and Relational Issues. Clinically, she employs a faith-based approach using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy. Laura believes God has created us to be rational human beings for the sole purpose of being close to him. By identifying essential attributes blocking one from unconditional love, forgiveness, grace, and empathy towards others, Laura is able to help devise a plan to eliminate those barriers and lead her patients into happy, healthy relationships.
