Jim Place, L.P.C.

Jim graduated in 2002 with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University. In addition to his counseling work, he serves as a Regional Coordinator for Christian Counseling Associates.

 Jim holds the following license:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor, State of Pennsylvania
  • American Association of Christian Counselors, Member

Jim has 29 years of experience working with clients in a variety of settings that include:

  • Outpatient Mental Health Counseling
  • Community Mental Health Services
  • Forensic Counseling in Correctional Settings
  • Parole Agent
  • Guidance Counseling in Educational Settings

Areas of Specialty:

Jim works with adolescents and adults. He is skilled at working with individuals, couples, and groups. Jim is trained to work with most areas of clinical disorder. Clinically, he employs a Faith-Based Approach using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapies. Jim specializes in addressing the following clinical areas:

  • Domestic Abuse
  • Depression
  • Marital and premarital issues
  • Self Esteem
  • Sexual Abuse

Jim integrates Faith-Based Counseling by incorporating biblical principles and prayer in each session. He is an active member in a local church in the Erie area.
